  • Coatesville Steel Mill, opened in 1810 by Brandywine Iron Works (later Lukens Steel), helped shape our nation’s infrastructure and shipbuilding; its steel beams, used in iconic structures like the World Trade Center, are now on display at the National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum.  VISTA Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania began cookie season preparations on Saturday at their Valley Forge Service Center — picking up 25,000 pre-ordered packages — and will start sales Jan. 15 while proceeds fund local programs and camps.  FOX 29

  • The Chester County Health Department inspected eateries on Friday and found multiple food safety lapses. In West Chester Borough, Ryan’s Pub was cited for several sanitation violations — management was ordered to retrain staff and fix issues.  MyChesCo
